Challenge
Financial tools for founders usually go one of two directions: sterile SaaS dashboards full of charts nobody has time to decode, or overly technical accounting software that feels intimidating. The challenge was designing something that feels as authoritative and trustworthy as an actual Chief Financial Officer, while staying immediately legible to a non-finance founder making six-figure decisions without a finance team behind them.
A rich, editorial art direction — classical architecture, oil-painting-style imagery, serif typography — gives Ledger a gravitas that generic fintech blue never could. It borrows visual cues from institutional finance and old-world authority rather than typical startup aesthetics, reinforcing "this is a serious financial mind working for you." Below the hero, real product cards (outstanding invoices, tax reserve status, revenue growth, runway, burn rate) are layered directly over the same painterly imagery, keeping the premium tone consistent as the page moves from pitch to proof. A dedicated AI activity log ("Ledger AI flagged anomaly," "Vendor spend +40% detected") shows the system actively working, not just reporting.
